Film Network Ruhr Area

A networking event for filmmakers from the Ruhr region. The focus is on exchange, collaboration, and strengthening regional film projects. It also raises the question of why Cologne has a thriving film scene while the Ruhr region does not—and what needs to change for a visible, independent production hub to emerge here.

A central topic of discussion will be whether the planned “Essener Filmhaus” can become a viable new hub for productions, film professionals, and media creators.

After the discussion, we will screen “Make Me Feel” by Essen-based director Timur Örge.
