“We come to you with our films – so that you come to us.” That was the motto in our old festival town of Landsberg am Lech, and we’re now trying it out in Essen too.
We are very pleased that, in addition to the Lichtburg and the Sabu in the Lichtburg, we can also show our films in the Kreuzeskirche, the DRIVE IN drive-in cinema and the BernePark Maschinenhaus.
Kreuzeskirche
In the Kreuzeskirche, we are showing the very moving drama “I am dying. Are you coming?” by Benjamin Kramme. He himself and some of his actors will be present.
We were also able to win over Andy von Oppenkowski, who will contribute two pieces on the impressive organ of the Kreuzeskirche.

DRIVE IN movie theater
At the DRIVE IN movie theater on the Saturday of the festival, we will be hosting the indie hit “The Bikeriders” by Jeff Nichols.
We are very much looking forward to this completely new experience. Anyone who has never experienced the thrill of a visit to a drive-in movie theater should seize the opportunity. The movie and location are first class.

BernePark Maschinenhaus
The BernePark Maschinenhaus is a wonderful place to eat and drink. And on the Friday of the festival, watch a very entertaining, but also very disturbing movie towards the end: The “house of cards” of three very different women gradually collapses. A German movie drama at its best.
